The Economics of Art

Rarely do academics capture my attention (or imagination) when it comes to art. Broadly stereotyping, there aren't enough people looking forward when thinking about theory.

However, I ran across a post on Austin Art Start that had an interview by Marcy Hoen with David Galenson.

In it, he explains how economic theories apply to art. I think he's rather convincing, but he goes on to tell us that art historians won't even entertain his ideas long enough to debate him. Well, there's a call-in guest who's behind him 100% Click on the silly silly little "Hear This" icon and then tell me how accurate to you think Galenson is?

Thanks for reading at Featurism.
